Building Envelope

Building Envelope

Also called: Draw Lot, Lot Fit Study, Check for Fit

A Building Envelope is a detailed drawing of a parcel’s property lines and any setbacks, easements, and other constraints affecting development. The proposed structure’s footprint—such as a house, garage, or swimming pool—is overlaid onto the Building Envelope to ensure compliance with zoning, setback, and other regulatory requirements. This aids in visualizing and planning improvements within the allowable area.

Typically, a field survey is not required for creating a Building Envelope.
